Description:
Nokia N8 is the latest flagship handset. It is real multimedia power house, the N8 has a 12 MP camera on the back with 4000×3000 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, Xenon flash and HD video recording and 25fps and HDMI output. It also spots 3.5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with the resolution of 360 x 640 pixels. So does the N8 live up to all the hype let’s find out.
Design
Design wise Nokia N8 feels extremely solid, constructive with the single piece of anodised aluminum. There is good weighting behind it and it feels cold to touch it, when you pick it up. As a body it’s mainly matted and the screen with a high glossy finish and has a nice contrass.
The flat top and bottom edge has sternly straight lines and they really help when you picking up the handset, as it gives you more solid grip than the curve edges along the side.
The screen itself come in a 3.5inchs with the resolution of 360 x 640 pixels and it also AMOLED so colors are really vibrant and pixels density is good, viewing angle is also good but in direct sun there is not going to be easy watching movie on it, however it is perfectly useable.
Physical features of the phone is included 3.5mm headphone jack on the top and as well as the HDMI port located and the power button. On the right hand side volume rocker, a small, ribbed sliding button to lock / unlock the Nokia N8 and two staged camera button. On the left hand side it has microsd card slot and sim card slot both located on the flat switch, which is very nicely flushed with the side of the phone and finally is microusb port which remains open. At the bottom of the N8 is 2mm Nokia charging port.
The phone only has one hardware button which is menu button. When you press it once it takes you to the menu and when you press it long hold, it takes you to the task manager.
Back of the phone has 12 MP camera, Carl Zeiss optics lens and it’s also got a Xenon flash and 1/1.83” sensor size, ND filter, geo-tagging, face detection so Nokia is saying that it could double up as a compaq camera replacement. Below the camera you will also find out the speaker. Overall the feel of Nokia N8 is appreciable.
Interface
Symbian^3 suppose to be the next series s60 v5, really a bit look like a rescan, sure there is some changes such as a button to switch between menus and much much smoother operation throughout without any single or double click confusion, however ultimately it doesn’t feel different enough or more to the point look different enough to really compete in today’s market places.
The Home screen divided it into widgets and 3 home screens each with six widgets. You can add or remove widgets by long holding down to remove or adding by taping the plus button. You can also remove entire home screen by pressing options and delete homescreen. Press a call button and you will pull up the dialup.
The menu button on the bottom left can be tap once to pull up the menu and held down to pull up the task manager. The menu looks extremely similar to S60v5.
Music application comes out designed to show off upgraded graphics capabilities with a slick 3D. Once you click on the music player that it will take you straight to Albums and Artists. These saves you to step to having wait through like what’s now in the options tab. When you flip the phone in Landscape orientation you’ll presented with the really smooth covers and when you flip back to portrait you’ll get a list. Once you select an album, you’ve got a really great idea. Covers flow at the top and list and the bottom.
ODI output is really good through the 3.5mm headphone jack onboard especially you plug it your own headphones, if they are any good. However loud speaker on the back is not so good.
Taking a look of photo viewer, everything load up very quickly as photos taken from 12MP camera, taping on a photo to open and you can pinch to zoom, to get really close to look to your photo and photo can be edit.
When you use message option or type message there is one thing to know is a keyboard layout. It’s much improve with the keyboard only taking half the screen and you have the entire half the screen for messaging. When flip it into a Landscape orientation the keyboard is easy to use and with the great deal and more space for message.
The video player is also great and DivX/XviD/MP4/H.264/H.263/WMV codec is included and N8 has TV-out (720p video) via HDMI with Dolby Digital Plus sound
Ovi Maps works very well and the GPS found is extremely quickly and OVI store work as expected. N8 has ARM 11 680 MHz processor, 3D Graphics HW accelerator and delivers performance that seldom left us feeling ply
Nokia N8 has 3G and WIFI setup for good connectivity and it also got Bluetooth. Web page is loaded on N8 well but having said that once you browsering through them with Symbian^3 browser don’t so extremely jerky, and opera browser work’s really smoother on it. It has pinch to zoom functionality and double tap to zoom on Opera. Nokia N8 has Internal 16 GB storage, 256MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and expandable to 32GB by microsd card
Overall Nokia N8 does do a good job of everything it does and doesn’t royally stand out anywhere and deign wise is not so extremely prettywell other than that it’s a great phone with one of the best camera we’ve seen on a mobile.

Yes I agree with u, it is expensive but it’s really worth it with the features u r getting with it. Like 12 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics and it’s having the largest camera sensor. Besides that u can shoot HD video with 25fps and HDMI output is there too.
