Description:
Nokia C5 is compact mainstream smartphone. It has some really neat features like a 3.2MP camera with LED flash, access to ovi store and free turn by turn navigation with ovi maps and ofcourse the possiblity to install alot of 3rd party application for the Symbian S60 3rd Generation Operating system.
The display of Nokia C5 is 2.2 inch with QVGA resolution. It is standard for such displays and manages to deliver nice image. But unfortunatly it becomes almost unviewable while you are using it under the bright sun light and image is almost disappear when you look it the screen from the side angle.
The keys below the display are very easy to use, they are really well made and this also goes for the numeric keypad which guaranties some easy enter pleasant sms writing. On the side of Nokia C5 we find micro sd card slot, above it we have volume roker and one the top side we have a 3.5mm jack and microusb port and the standard charging port. On the backside we have 3.2MP camera with LED flash. It is good to see the back cover isn’t entirly made of metal
Nokia C5 is well made and it is good to see that the manufacturer is utilize some nice materials in its making which however does not apply to the plastic cover of the display which seems very flexible and easy to bent, but non the less the keys are easy to use and the device feel very well in the hand and it is compact and easy to carry around. So we are happy with the design of Nokia C5.
Nokia C5 runs Symbian 3rd edition operating system, but the new thing about C5 is that it integrates your phonebook with your facebook profile and it applies the picture of those contacts you have as friends in Facebook and who also have enter their phone number there and for the rest of the people you have to link them manually.
On the homescreen you have contacts bar which is for your favourite contacts and from here you can quickly dial, send them a text message or view their rss feeds. Instead of that you have acess to calender and email in you homescreen. At the bottom of the homescreen you have shortcuts to your favourite apps.
Nokia has created a landscape for user interface and animated transition. Nokia C5 is preloaded with quite a few apps like you have facebook and you also have adobe PDF and Quickoffice which will relate to work with microsoft office files but unfortunatly apps come without the licence so you only can view the files.
Internet explorer in C5 is not the fastest one but it is very very usable, well you are not going to have problem in scrolling pages in this and there are other few option which gives you much better view in larger pages
Overall C5 is nice choice for those who are looking for traditional smartphone with some really nice features and some pleasant design. But the disadvantages of this phone is lack of WiFi connectivity and not really good display
